4 Reasons to Take Your Engagement Photos on a Rooftop or Garage

Although Colorado has some of the most spectacular mountains around, the weather can be a little chaotic in the winter months. For some warm tones, wide-open spaces, and a break from the elements (and crowds), think about scheduling your winter engagement session in a small city, like Golden, Colorado.

REASON #1:

Intimacy

Colorado is a state full of a lot of lovely people. That being said, you might not want said lovely people photobombing your engagement photos. Picking and urban space and going somewhere like a rooftop or parking garage insures that you get some quality time in with your boo, and a little intimacy too.

REASON #2:

Privacy

When you don’t have the eyes of the world on you, you can open up and be your goofy self. Many couples who choose to take engagement photos haven’t taken professional photos before, and might feel shy in front of the camera. With the right photographer and the right rooftop, you can let your freak flag fly and just be yourself.

REASON #3:

Space

Want to dance with your partner or play games during your engagement session? Picking a spot with a lot of room allows for you to spread out, and get comfortable. Try out those wacky dance moves or follow some of your photographers more wacky prompts; enjoying the process is what will make the best photos.

REASON #4:

The View

The higher you go in Colorado, the more epic the view. And when you get onto the roof, you can get eye level with some of the peaks around you. So take a moment to soak in the last rays of sunshine, and enjoy the peace and quiet. At the end of the day, descend to your local town or city and grab a drink and some food in the town that hosted your photoshoot. You’ll be glad you stuck around.
